Lately the temperatures have been soaring in many cities across the U.S. Here, In Washington, D.C., even as the sun begins to set, the buildings and sidewalks still retain the heat from the middle of the day. As I venture out of my home in the early evening to meet friends at a local restaurant, the city reminds me of a desert at sunset. Inspired by this imaginative resemblance, I’ve assembled an outfit featuring golden sun and parched-earth tones:
